Sustainable Housing

This brief asked us to take an existing house and make it eco-friendly. My group wanted to make it very low tech, and we created a communal living space for students. We used rammed earth walls and a system where we ran water pipes through the compost to heat water. Our house needed almost no external power. The house was connected to the garden out back, which actually extends into the house on the bottom floor.
